My passion is creating new from old. At Butser Ancient Farm, the living history museum and archeological experiment like no other, I’ve been given the opportunity to compose immersive, original music to bring their unique reconstructed ancient buildings to life, from Saxon halls to Iron Age roundhouses. My music brings to the site the missing ingredient: how the past might have SOUNDED. I’m combining my expertise as an award-winning classically-trained composer, string player and singer with my love of history, deep passion for creative practice-based research and for bringing the past to life to enrich and enliven visitors, archaeologists, historians and anyone who would love to feel what life might have been like in ancient and early Medieval Britain.
